So you’re baking and you have a can of baking powder waaaay in the back of your spice shelf. It’s unopened and the expiration date on it says “expires December 2011”.

How do tell if your baking powder has gone bad?

• 1 tsp baking powder in a small bowl
• 1/4 Cup boiling hot water

Pour hot water over bp. if it bubbles furiously, then it’s still good.

Keep on baking!
